About Rise & Impact

Turning education into opportunity — and opportunity into impact.

We’re a grassroots nonprofit serving youth, young adults, and families in Austin and San Antonio.

Our story

Why we started

Rise & Impact began in 2025 with two co-founders, Rodney Bremby and Zachary Schroat, and a shared conviction: young people deserve to learn the lessons that shape adult life before they have to learn them the hard way.

Rodney knows those lessons personally. His life has included success, failure, difficult consequences, and the hard work of rebuilding — and he chose to use that story to help others make better decisions before one moment changes everything. Zachary spent more than seven years in banking and finance, helping people through challenges that can feel bigger than themselves, and came to believe that real success is measured by the lives you lift along the way.

They had the right idea and the right resources at the right time, and they wanted to be part of the change they hoped to see in their own communities. So they built Rise & Impact — not a single program, but a pathway that walks with young people from school into adulthood.

Our mission
To bridge the gap between school and adulthood by providing youth and young adults with the education, mentorship, leadership development, financial literacy, life skills, and real-world opportunities they need to make better decisions and build stronger futures.

We’re committed to developing confident, responsible, and successful young adults — and to creating pathways from education to opportunity to impact.

Better Decisions. Stronger Youth. Brighter Futures.

Pathway

What makes Rise & Impact different

01

A pathway, not a program

We stay with young people on the whole journey from school to adulthood, instead of running a one-time workshop and moving on.

02

Grassroots and homegrown

We’re led by people who grew up in and understand the communities we serve.

03

Skills for
real life

Financial literacy, credit, leadership, and career prep — the things that matter the day after graduation.

04

The whole
person

Education, mentorship, athletics, scholarships, prevention, and community support, working together.

Who we serve

From kindergarten to early adulthood — and the families behind them.

We serve youth from kindergarten through early adulthood, along with their families, in underserved communities across Austin and San Antonio. Right now we’re focused on home. As our impact grows, we’d love to grow with it.

Our team

The people behind Rise & Impact

We’re a small team with big goals — and every one of us is here because this work matters to us personally.

Rodney Bremby

Co-Founder

An entrepreneur, real estate investor, and motivational speaker, Rodney co-founded Rise & Impact to help young people understand the power of their decisions. His own story includes success, failure, and the work of rebuilding — experience he now uses to reach young people before a single moment changes the direction of their lives.

Zachary Schroat

Co-Founder

A finance professional with more than seven years in banking, Zach co-founded Rise & Impact to turn compassion into action. He believes meaningful change often starts with one person deciding that someone else’s situation is worth caring about — whether that means supporting a young person, feeding a neighbor, or helping an animal in need.

Jubilea Flom

President of Development and Operations

Jubilea brings six years of nonprofit fundraising experience and a deep commitment to community and activism. She leads Rise & Impact’s development, fundraising, operations, partnerships, and community initiatives.

Rodney Bremby

Co-Founder

Rodney Bremby is an entrepreneur, real estate investor, motivational speaker, and community advocate committed to helping young people understand the power of their decisions and build stronger futures.

As a co-founder of Rise & Impact, Rodney has helped shape an organization focused on practical education that goes beyond the traditional classroom — mindset, discipline, financial literacy, credit, entrepreneurship, career development, and personal responsibility.

His mission is deeply personal. Rodney’s life has included success, failure, difficult consequences, and the responsibility of rebuilding. Rather than let the hardest chapters of his story define his future, he uses those experiences to help others make better decisions before a single moment changes the direction of their lives. That commitment led to Zero Proof Drive, Rise & Impact’s impaired-driving prevention initiative, which combines education, technology, and access to transportation with one goal: encouraging people to make the right decision before getting behind the wheel impaired.

Beyond his nonprofit work, Rodney has built experience across sales, lending, real estate, and business development, and continues to build businesses focused on long-term financial opportunity. But for Rodney, success is about more than business. Through Rise & Impact, he is working to create opportunities, develop future leaders, reward positive choices, and show young people that where they begin does not have to determine where they finish.

Zachary Schroat

Co-Founder

Zachary Schroat is a community-minded leader, entrepreneur, and financial professional with more than seven years of experience in banking and finance. His work has taught him the value of responsibility, perseverance, and relationships — and of helping people navigate challenges that can feel bigger than themselves.

For Zach, success has never been only about professional achievement. It’s about what we do with the opportunities we’re given and the impact we leave on the people around us. He believes every person can make a difference, regardless of where they come from or what resources they have. Sometimes that means providing a meal to someone experiencing homelessness. Sometimes it means giving a young person a safe place to grow, helping an animal in need, or simply stepping in when someone needs a hand.

His motivation is personal: to build a life where he can provide security for his family while using his time, experience, and resources to create opportunities for others. As a leader of Rise & Impact, he brings his finance and business background together with a genuine passion for service — and a belief that leadership means getting involved, listening to the community, and leading by example.

Zach’s vision is an organization that does more than respond to problems: one that builds a culture where people look for chances to make a difference, and where individuals, businesses, and neighbors come together to leave the community better than they found it.

Jubilea Flom

President of Development and Operations

Jubilea Flom serves as President of Development and Operations for Rise & Impact, bringing six years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and a strong passion for community and activism. She helps lead the organization’s development, fundraising, operations, partnerships, and community initiatives.

Jubilea is passionate about creating opportunities that give young people and underserved communities access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive. Through Rise & Impact, she works to turn education into opportunity — and opportunity into lasting impact.

Anthonei Mitchell

Board Member

Growing up in a challenging environment without a stable support system, Anthonei experienced homelessness, incarceration, and ultimately graduated high school while incarcerated. Facing an uncertain future with little guidance or family support, he learned early what it meant to navigate life’s hardest circumstances alone.

Refusing to let his past determine his future, Anthonei committed himself to continuous learning, perseverance, and personal growth. Through years of dedication, he built a successful career in finance and sales, pursued entrepreneurship, and created opportunities that once seemed beyond his reach.

As a board member of Rise & Impact, Anthonei brings more than professional experience. He brings a firsthand understanding of what it feels like to be a young person without direction, resources, or someone to believe in them. His mission is to help underserved and at-risk youth recognize that their circumstances do not determine their worth or their potential.

For Anthonei, success is not simply measured by what he has accomplished, but by what he can help others overcome. He hopes to be the person he once needed — someone who reminds young people that they are not alone, that their story is not over, and that where they begin does not have to determine where they end.
